Great piece.

I’m in marketing and the Gymkhana videos changed expectations of creativity in the automotive space for our team every time they came out. We built entire consumer driving programs for major auto brands based on the tension that he created with those pieces of content. Incredible loss for us all.

That seems right. The way a driver talks in a pre-race interview dictates how successful they can drive.

I thought he spoke pretty well in the one interview I saw...he was clearly coached on what to say but that goes without saying in the F1 paddock.

New Range Rover is gorgeous IMO, and I’d likely have another $200K to drop on an extended warranty for when the inevitable happens.

I think you need a pair of glasses.  (I kid...sort of, but really?)

Love the 6000 GTE...I’d rock it.

I was stoked to see Kimi this weekend...until the bus stop of course. Would be amazing to see him out there. Your move Wrangler.

***A ton of assumptions here as I can’t seem to track the data down***

On the same day that Hyundai releases the N Vision 74...we get this pile up from Toyota.  If there was ever an indication as to brands who value design as a lead priority and those that don’t, this is it.

Exactly. They’ll get zero sympathy from me and presumably a ton of others that are in the same boat as you.

I always thought the story of the Pontiac GTO was a beauty.

Drove a ton of these...smooth, refined and fast, something not often muttered about a more modern era Cadillac.  Good call.

Oh - two former Karma employees leading this company? I’m sure this will go fine. No quality issues, broken promises or production delays.

I like the rule change too but will miss the audio from these conversations.  So much fun...

Something stinks here.

I think this is exactly the point. You work at an independent shop, which traditionally are lower-cost shops when compared to dealers so SilverRock likely loves you.  If you’re a dealer however...not so much.  I’m still surprised they would cover repairs at up to $5K though.  Wow.

Maybe because it was their salesperson that sold it? Maybe because this is a PR nightmare for a small dealer and word travels fast? Maybe because, oh I dunno, it’s the right and honorable thing to do?

Now that’s interesting. Sadly, the number of times that I’ve seen an AT anywhere near HAM is super low, but stranger things have happened. I like this idea, and hate myself for it.

Minus the Isle of Man TT...this is by far the worst for driver/rider safety

Rude but perhaps accurate to some degree.

Video?
