I'd just like to state again how good this was. Also I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned the awesomeness of the musical curation just yet? That Feist tune in the climax had me flying.

Maybe if they keep hiring competent writers and directors with a strong artistic vision and not, say, Brian Singer, they might get something going there.

There seems to be an elephant in the room, sure, but is it real? Is the room even real?

You're talking about the network that let Louis CK make Louie double-hiring the guy that made the best TV show of 2015, so of course they let him do whatever the hell he wants to. He's earned it, and they're chill anyway.

Or maybe even… Yellow Eyes and David are the same person… *sound of mind blowing*

Jesus christ, this show is an acid trip with mescaline sprinkled on top. I love it.

The simple answer is it depends on the soup and portion size. If it has a decent balance of veggies and protein in it and the portion is large enough to be filling, then it's a meal.

And yes Neon Demon was incredible visually and also in terms of score and sound, just a bit light in the substance department. I assume Knight of Cups is also amazing visually since Chivo was behind camera but I'm just not sure I can take another big dose of Terrence Malick yammering…

By faaar the best looking movie of the year and also the most original one. It's not perfect either (I felt it could've been sped up slightly towards the end) but it's for sure a much more notable cinematic accomplishment than any of the movies that did get nominated, at the very least in all the technical departments.

THE HANDMAIDEN should absolutely win, by far the best film I've seen from 2016. At the absolute very least it should win hand down for technical categories like set and costume design and cinematography, it really has no competition there. But can anyone seriously argue that Moonlight or La La Land are better-directed

I continue to love the dramatic/political aspect of this show more than the typically 'sci-fi' bits. Let's face it, there's not much in terms of special effects and cinematography you can do with a SyFy budget and they're doing really well considering, but the result is still pretty cheap if you compare to the quality

I think those were two different memories blended together Hank, in the scene where he was high on the floor he didn't seem nearly switched on enough to have the sort of rapid-fire argument they were having in the kitchen.

Fully agree, but I think you'll see a similar cinematic quality in Fargo (especially season 2), the other series Noah Hawley created and runs. Dude is obviously a genius.

Surprised no one's mentioned the ex girlfriend who so lovingly brought him cake. I think it's getting pretty clear he (perhaps under the influence of the yellow eyed devil) did something very bad to her, which may or may not have involved taking off her head.

I like AoS and continue to watch it every week, but the Netflix shows (particularly Jessica Jones and the first 1.25 seasons of Daredevil) are unquestionably better and so is Agent Carter. And it's still a tad too early to tell for sure but Legion might be better than all of them.

Agree that this was one of the best directed episodes of the series, and there were some fantastic moments (especially the end slo-mo montage with a snapshot of every member in the Framework - masterful) but god is the writing just lazy sometimes. The performances were terrific for the most part, visually it was

"He’s not blatantly suicidal, but while his clear desire to do right by Julie Mao’s memory is pushing him onward, the fact that he’d go back to Eros, and go on a spacewalk that he’s unprepared for, suggest someone who, at the very least, has started to associate doing the right thing with a certain lack of interest in

Tell that to the poor stabbing victim.

Also, I suppose The Magicians sounds pretty safe as a title (if you don't know the actual material) but generally if you don't want your character to get slaughtered in ever more creative ways you probably shouldn't take roles in series with names like Hannibal and The Killing.

Isn't Sean Bean already the Sean Bean of fantasy?
