Pretty much every song off Reflektor was ten times better live.

Neville Longbottom lucked out with puberty extremely hard imo.

I maintain that Order of the Phoenix must be incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't read it. I feel like I'm filling so much in for the film from my knowledge of the books.

Fantastic Creatures (as a series) is probably going to turn into that in part.

This was the first year I really fell off playing video games, other than getting some time into Stardew Valley. I think it was just a combination of not having any of the current systems and being busy with other things, but I often felt like any game I played was more a mechanical chore than a joy. It's really odd.

Hell, the film he gave a C+ to and got the reputation for, Iron Man 3, is either underrated or the worst Marvel film depending on the person you ask, so it's not like he even slammed a universally beloved movie or anything.

I'm still convinced Lor San Tekka was originally supposed to be Wedge, but they couldn't get the original actor back.

The weirdest thing about the Vader scene to me is he's a ruthless horror villain there, and then just a bit later in-universe time, he casually strolls hallways when boarding enemy ships. If he had entered ANH like in this movie, the plans never would've made it out.

Yeah I hated it.

It felt a little fan service-y at first and then he force choke threw a dude into the ceiling and cut him after walking past him like a badass and I didn't give a fuck.

Yeah. I mean, I knew Tarkin wasn't real, but there were moments when I was impressed with how life-like he seemed (and the animators really nailed his walked), but Leia's face looked super fake to me.

He was trapped in middle management hell and it was awesome.

Hammerheads were originally old republic era ships so I wonder if those are meant to be (maybe not that) old ships that aren't in mass numbers.

Pratt has enough right-wing leaning tendencies that I fully expect him to make a vaguely pro-Trump statement at some point and set off his own backlash.

Some guy started saying the reshoots were done to add "anti-Trump" scenes. This is, of course, based on literally no evidence whatsoever and was outright refuted by people behind the film. So now there's a hashtag and call to boycott.

The end of TFA is indicative of that to me. All the other Star Wars films ended with a static, intentionally framed shot that you knew was Lucas making some intentional mythic imagery. For whatever reason, Abrams decided to do that copter shot of Luke on the island, and man, it feels so alien to the series.

I think everyone involved with the films and Clone Wars/Rebels seems to love the old republic stuff because TFA had several little nods to making things canon as well (eg, Malachor).

That probably plays some part of it. I got Spotify towards the end of college, and whenever I get non-streaming music now, it's something I buy.

Good way to make music piracy cool again imo.

Same as y'all. Spotify broke me of that big time.
