Guess what movie this studio has coming out next?

I think you could take the universe and tell a really awesome story, but you'd need to do it differently from the games.

Same movie studio, same director,

They barely marketed it.

The The Two Tower and Return of the King video games were quite good, I thought. Playing co-op on the latter could be pretty enjoyable, and they had a solid combat system.

Oh man. The old days of "Tasha Robinson isn't black?" jokes.

Talking about music here is always something of a lost cause.

Oh. I totally misread that use of "hilariously." This makes a lot more sense.

Remember how long game publications themselves were confused about it after the announcement? Nintendo had to come out and say that "yes, there is a console part, we just didn't show it" because everyone just thought it was the controller.

Yeah, I was expecting a more noticeable difference there.

It's the first Nintendo console I've never owned. It's weird. I guess I just never felt the impulse to buy it like any of their other stuff.

Oh yeah. I said that elsewhere too. The Wii was the equivalent of a playset that your parents bought you cheap action figures for.

Does Fire Emblem Fates not count? (I haven't played any FE games.)

But, as I pointed out elsewhere, it surprisingly has the best attach rate of any system other than the Gamecube.

They don't list the Virtual Boy on their website, which I assume represents just how much of a black sheep it is. Nothing about the Micro either, but I assume that's folded into Game Boy Advance along with SP since it's just a hardware revision.

Agreed. If you can believe it, it also had a higher attach rate of 9 vs 8.08! I figured the "argument" against the Wii was that no one bought stuff for it, but I'm sure parents bought a ton of shovelware, too.

Out of curiosity, I just looked up the numbers for Nintendo systems, which is actually available on their site, and yeah, boy, those Wii U numbers aren't great (all numbers in millions:

Yeah I saw that. Jeff has been skeptical of the importance of E3 for a few years now. I think it's relevance comes in waves. So I'm not surprised there will be nothing about the console.
