This is the big one, yes. In a tipped position, like waitstaff, $5/hour is actually above minimum and not a half-bad base pay at all, per industry standards (whether industry standards are where they should be is another argument). But no one working the tap counter filling growlers is getting tipped.

Things must be very different dependent upon the sport/league being covered. I’ve been dialed into the soccer sport umbrella (MLS) for years now, and while there weren’t all of these different “official” designations, we basically had “trusted access users” for, well, forever.
