Yeah, you would think after Woodbury that Michonne of all people would be the last one to trust these guys.

I think that was the writer's awful attempt to add to his backstory and foreshadow that he was gay. He said his mom did it to toughen him up, which in hindsight probably meant make him act more manly/straight. Because there's nothing more manly or hetero than eating applesauce…

I could see them condensing it to make it more interesting. It seemed like they skipped ahead to the Governor pretty quickly in the prison plotline. I get the feeling the showrunners are afraid to drag any arcs out too long on the show after the fan backlash over Hershel's farm…

In his defense, I don't think the writers care about her character enough to remember her either.

I heard that Kirkman recently spoiled this plot point on Talking Dead, which makes me think they aren't going that route for the show. Sort of like how they were open about Rick losing his arm in the comics because it's never going to happen on the show.

Same here. My weird, OCD brain is gong to have a hard time with this.

If you can't kick a serial rapist while they're down who can you kick?

The show killing off minor, inconsequential characters from the books and the author of the books giving passive-aggressive interviews about it confirms that?

Yeah, that's a good point. They could get into WoW material and have to spoil a major death from that book.

Clearly the producers are idiots for not signing him to a 7 year contract to appear in an episode in season 1 and then wait to come back in season 6.

The funny thing is, it they had kept the character alive on the show, nobody would remember who he was by the time he comes back anyways. Plus they would probably recast him because I think he was just played by a random stunt guy.

I would be more concerned if GRRM didn't say this every year and then it always turns out to be minor characters.

Yeah, Jojen could potentially be a big deal. It does seem like he's dying or possibly even died off-page in the books though, so I took his death in the show as confirmation that he isn't going to last much longer in the books.

Yep. They have done it in every single season. Mago in season 1, all of Dany's handmaidens and Xaro in season 2, Rob's wife in season 3, Jojen, Pyp and Grenn in season 4. I'm sure there are plenty of others that I can't remember… They are always pretty minor characters so their deaths don't really effect anything in a

They even did it in the first season. Some random Dothraki guy died and GRRM bitched up a storm about it, even though he could easily be replaced by a new character if he comes back in the books.

Is anyone surprised? They have done this in every season so far, and no matter how much Martin likes to complain, they are almost always minor characters.

Even as someone who loves him on the show, I was a bit turned off to see that he was a guest again this week.

Well I hope that you at least know the names of each member and which instruments they play.

By all accounts they already know Martin's plans for the books and are working under the assumption that the TV show will come out first. It seems like there will probably be Winds stuff in season 5.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting that to be a popular opinion. I just never liked ROTJ that much.
