Forcing a storyteller to reveal the biggest mystery of their story way earlier than the storyteller wants strictly for a ratings boost is never ever good storytelling. Also, the timing of the reveal is totally absurd and leaves the back half of the 2nd season flailing until the last episode.

This is the 2nd article I've read about this where the author doesn't seem to know that Lynch has recently been on record several times saying that if Showtime is up for it, he's up for it.
