On the serious side, it might also have to do with the larger distances driven in the US. Long multi-hour car journeys are probably much more common. Also ties into using cruise control. I had an English friend that thought cruise control was a useless addition for the lazy until he did his first drive from SF to LA

With the shift from seeing smoking ads everywhere growing up and sponsoring everything, when do you think the phase out of the ash tray & push in cigarette lighter was? Was it along the lines of the public finally realizing that smoking was indeed bad for people and car manufactures cutting that cost of manufacturing?

200 support personnel just to order a latte and a bran muffin Really?

Somewhere, Dale Brown just got an erection.

I love the lady in the Acadia at the end. Checks to make sure her SUV isn’t scratched before heading off.

Lol, why did the woman start to go to the passenger side of her car and double back? I’m guessing she had a pizza in the passenger seat and was undecided on whether she’d rather eat or render assistance. It’s a difficult choice, I know.

Likely not an air failure; you’re right in that if you lose air pressure the spring-brakes creep on and lock up the wheels, but airbrakes are FAR from foolproof. The reason heavy trucks use air-brakes is that compressed air allows for much higher braking pressures and thus better stopping power than hydraulic systems,

Could have downshifted and engine braked... Or do dump trucks have automatic gearboxes these days?

With brake failure, I would think that not crashing would be more important than disturbing a few neighbors...

What’s with the guy in the red truck and trailer who just missed getting creamed just driving away afterwards? “I get paid by the hour, ain’t got time for this shit. I have the green light, and did I mention my questionable legal status? L8R!” ?!?!

I was going to suggest Batwing

Kit cars with a sticker with ZERO relationship to anything you can buy. You just summed up nascar.

Yep, having that different sticker on the hood is surely going to rile people up, since the cars are just so similar to what you can buy at the dealer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I very well could be, but it seems that manufacturer/engine supplier makes less of a difference in NASCAR than any other professional Motorsport on the planet. They're entirely interchangeable.

Ever since Toyota jumped in I’ve completely stopped caring about what cars were being raced in nascar. They’re so spec that the manufacture is just another decal on the car, might as well have loyalty to the sponsor stickers.

My answer: Because children. Children are absolutely disgusting.

Kids trash cars, you don’t want them trashing expensive shit.
