Rogue One was fine, even if the story wasn’t very coherent. But the immediate fan reaction of “this is the best Star Wars movie ever” seemed to arrive simply because it had a dark ending and dudes got to watch Darth Vader wreck house. It’s like a mirror-verse Attack of the Clones.
