Back when Kevin Hart was the kind of spunky comedian that would pop up here and there in movies and TV, I liked his energy in the small bits he was given.
But now that the black sequel to Dane Cook is everywhere, I'm ready for the next disposable college-kid comedian to come replace him.

Steve McQueen, Duncan Jones, Shane Carruth ("Upstream Color" was my second favorite movie this year), Ashgar Farhadi (sort of, though not American) are the first that come to mind. I think your sentiment is right, though, as a lot of the filmmakers I looked up are older and have been in the game longer than I thought.

I couldn't agree more. I love "The Killing" almost exclusively because it makes me wonder what Kubrick might have done had he chosen to make more genre-specific films.
