Then you have to revoke the license of every person who messes with a phone in a car, no matter WHAT they are doing with it. The person in the car or truck is wielding 8 to 50 times more kinetic energy (the thing that determines how much damage an object in motion can cause) than the motorcycle rider.

Sure the consequences are mostly on the motorcycle rider, but it’s very easy to imagine someone swerving to avoid crushing him and hitting someone else (because people don’t always react rationally to an asshat slamming into them). Just because he’s more likely to get himself massively fucked up doesn’t mean everyone

That guy was literally within an inch of being killed, I don’t know how he wasn’t run over by the semi-truck. While he claims to have learned his lesson, sadly others who see this and ride like this guy was doing, will not. And many of them will also end up badly injured or even killed, as well as a few of them

So glad some people are pointing this out. Dude still thinks he, or someone else, could pull off this kind of riding safely.

Asshatery on a motorcycle can be just as dangerous, especially at higher speeds - just because the motorcycle and rider are under half a ton, with enough speed it can still create plenty of problems. The truck that this guy initially hit was almost knocked on its ass due to the force of the bike and the tall ride of

Agreed. As they say... “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

I’m 52 and DD an S1000RR for 5 months of the year. It has insane acceleration, but I never do anything like that in traffic. One of the best ways to be safe in traffic is to be predictable, not weaving in and out of it. Respect the power and don’t be an asshat in traffic, as was mentioned by other posters.

He even claims that it was “too much confidence for too little skill.” That reads to me like he thinks there’s a level of skill where lanesplitting and weaving through traffic at 100+ miles per hour could ever be done safely.

“Too much confidence for too little skill.” Maybe just don’t drive or ride like a huge asshole and cause dangerous conditions for everyone? Is there a skill level where it would be safe to do this type of high speed lane splitting amongst unpredictable traffic?

I see this shit way too often during rush-hour traffic and can’t believe the roadside isn’t littered with flattened motorcyclists.  My usual thought is “all it’s going to take is someone changing lanes...” but this guy managed to nearly kill himself with everyone else staying put.

The black truck pulling over after the hit is probably the only reason no one died. Otherwise, the semi is forced to choose if they hit the truck or squish the biker (potentially both). So much dumb luck involved.

What kills me is declaring the accident the result of too much confidence and too little skill. No, buddy. The accident was the result of you being a borderline sociopath with a license and a rocketship between your legs. He should never be allowed on a motorcycle again.

Every one of the other writer’s on this site that wants to post bullshit about stricter traffic laws needs to read this article and watch the video.  The fact this future skidmark will get his license back and likely be back on a motorcycle is the fucking problem.  Not the fact that I can turn right on red sometimes.

I don’t understand why people do this. Riding is dangerous enough as it is.

Screw this idiot. Zero sympathy for him, no matter what level of responsibility he takes for it. I can’t imagine driving down the highway with my two little girls in the back of the vehicle and having a motorcycle slam into the back of my vehicle at 110+mph. There is a place for speed, it’s called the track, not on a

He had to be going 130+ at times in this video WHILE PASSING people.

“Watch This Motorcycle Rider IDIOT SQUID Survive ALMOST KILL HIMSELF IN A Horrific Highway Crash THAT HE CAUSED”

I’m not as young as I used to be. I like the idea that replacement organs are riding around like this.

Dumbass Motorcyclist Does Stupid Shit and Nearly Dies

I hope this person recovers and reforms himself after this bit of fuckery.
