Apparently you missed the first one. Yes, it’s essentially Minecraft with classic Dragon Quest storyline and quest system designed around restoring a town from the original series. NPCs ask for specific building types like item shops or inns. Combat is fairly simple, but there is equipment crafting similar too.

I still love my Destiny White console. It was the second one I bought after the initial launch unit.

Square is most definitely not kicking itself for keeping the DQ series on Nintendo for prior releases. This is a Japan first title as even the best selling mainline game (DQ 8) didn’t surpass 600k. In Japan the DS/3DS and Wii have had the largest install base by a mile.

Guess its just a taste thing, I found the dialog/voice acting one of the best of the PS2 generation. And the monster collection and alchemy loads of fun.

Is it fair to call it “generic” if it basically invited the style on consoles? Yes it should evolve and there some changes that have come along the way. But they almost sell specifically on the classic feel at this point.

Not to mention Square always strives to release DQ on the largest install base platform possible. With the supply issues still a real problem in Japan I’d be surprised if we see it this year.

The dev clearly didn’t “paint himself the victim”. This was a mod with some user backing, not a commercial product.

Unlike most games the AI is more varied than simply “Attack on site”. Depending on the creature it may look for its preferred terrain (for example there’s a monkey-like creature that prefers vine canopy areas) when attacked. Some are intentionally “clumsy” in its standard state but when enraged become a death machine.

You aren’t “wrong” but unless you play a multiplayer PVP shooter. I’ve never seen enough difference in performance from any HD Tv to notice.

Its entirely possible both are true, technically. But that line like comes directly from the Police report, so it could mean either.

Very well said. And on top of all those individual components you are still talking about computer code that may or may not cooperate well depending on the hardware its being run on. Things that work hundreds of times perfectly in QA, all of a sudden cause hard locks when run on real hardware.

“Older millennials” were mostly too young to appreciate most of the references, and styling the show used. For that you’d have to be in Gen X. As someone born in 79, I was the perfect age for films like Goonies/E.T.

I may be asking to much to expect a respectful response to this question from a gaming comment thread, but here goes:

Yeah and for the time it was pretty dope.

You monster!

Having had found Ghibili with Laputa, untranslated, on Laser Disc (yes my dad was one of those guys). The original fox print was my first taste of Totoro too. There were always some lines that i knew I was missing with the Disney release. One of the earliest I recall is when the youngest sees the stream at the new

On the official servers, I imagine this may still be a problem although simply staking out territory with pillars would seem like something that could get you kicked on official.

Which is exactly what the developers have said is the goal starting after the last dinos added to the game. They’ve focused on tuning, and balancing up until this point. Now that the ingredients are all in, they can do the optimizations everyone continues to complain about.

This is an odd bit off marketing art. You know what ISN’T the first thing that pops into mind when I think Micro Machines. A Ouija board.

To not have a shot of her choking 9S is a serious missed opportunity. But this is STUNNINGLY accurate.
