Just because I lean towards the left doesn't mean I support Obama or Hilary. I'm just trying to say that the conservative'splatform is usually maybr 90% about fucking innocent people over, while the democrats are still a little bit about fucking people over, but not as much.

I would have

Well you see I lean towards the left, because people on the right usually want to kill numerous people. If thinking that people shouldn't be killed and (rightfully) feeling smug about it is honestly why you think Trump is in the white house, then I don't really know what to say.

Season 3 might as well be that honestly

I agree that good films out of bad books is entirely possible, and it happens all the time. But I don't agree that anything good can be made out of Ready Player One

I really think we should keep James Cromwell articles limited to pig puns, to avoid confusion.

I agree, visually it actually looks really great, and I usually hate overdone CGI spectacle.

You know, the original prince of endlessly referencing other stuff instead of creating your own world.

No, I think I know what you mean. Though they're jewels of "geek" culture now, BTTF, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, were at one point original stories, totally new ideas. What stuff like RP1 does is not produce new ideas, but just endlessly point at old crap and hope to coast along on the goodwill brought by them.

But, most importantly, it's asking to be taken seriously.

Is Ready Player One indirectly Bret Easton Ellis's fault???

If RP1 features a recreation of the Body Double "Relax" sequence, I may or may not take back everything bad I've said about it.

Where's the American Psycho reference??????

My point is there isn't a theme in Cline's novel other than "the 80s happened"

Yeah but Ready Player One is already a "fun" story about playing video games or something.

Plenty of references to stuff he's produced though. Pretty sure there's a lot of Back to the Future in there.

It's actually based on a real life event involving people getting stuck in an elevator. All that stuff about airplanes and terrorism was added to give the movie a little more drama.

It's okay. After the puppets stop, we'll all have time to watch a lot more TV.

I like the idea of a puppeteer being a "loose cannon".

I always wanted to rent it from the video star due to its cover, which makes it look like some sort of epic crossover where all these cartoon characters hang out with each other. But my mom never let me, presumably because of the drug themes.
