A thousand times this! Creativity in constraints is better, IMO. That's why I've always preferred playing handheld games to big console releases, because there was less the developers could do you get these more pure gameplay experiences. I guess.

But in the Simpsons if someone is from another region they try to make them look different. Different facial structures, skin tones. In anime you'll have British people, Europeans, Japanese, Turkmenistanians all with the same accent.

So they look asian but it's Germany.

Things like that are why I don't understand anime. Watching FMA I wondered... where is this supposed to be set?
