Alot of people are like that. Sony screwed the pooch by not enforcing or even making a plan for retailers to follow. You would be surprised. You and I of course, being consumers of Kotaku/other gaming press know whats up. But most kids aren’t going to be in the position where they can be quite so picky, or knowledgeable. And right now the economy and unemployment being like it is, that difference in price will be significant.

Yeah, that was a thing back then, the base XBox 360 also was had no WiFi, smaller HD and had a wired controller instead for reference. Personally I prefer wired network for gaming, but for some that is not an option. WiFi is negligible cost and board space these days, back then for gaming level stuff it wasn’t.

You know that, I know that but parents will see the price and they don’t know that.  Keep in mind they release in November to capture the holiday market, hence parents will drive early adoption.  All the uninformed consumer will see is price difference.  Feel free to explain teraflops to them.
