I'm just using the info that is out there: each book has a progressively longer wait time and he has been adamant about no one else writing this universe. The man has called fan fiction sacrilege. My guess is it would take a significant amount of time for the rights to pass to someone who doesn't care what he wants.

Yes but how long will it take for the rights to be passed to someone who doesn't care about his wishes? The gone with that wind sequel took 70 years.
