I'm still a little miffed that Bird didn't get hired to direct this, because he was always my pick.

Eroticon 6, you mean?

Exactly. That bit with the stormtroopers on the ship or whatever is probably the least Star Wars-y thing I've seen. It's all quick cuts and shaky-cam. Even the Falcon shot isn't all that smooth.

Watching this trailer is weird, because the production design, the music and everything reads as Star Wars to me, but a lot of the framing seems off. I never realized until now how much of Star Wars to me was in the framing and cinematography.

I usually watch the "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" episode of MST3K on Christmas Eve, and of course I watch the Doctor Who Christmas special on the day (usually I'll watch the "Christmas Carol" Doctor Who special as well, as it is the best.) Also, in the days leading up to Christmas, I listen to the two Sufjan

I would watch a spinoff about Murray in the New Zealand Army in a heartbeat.

I'm pretty sure that's Arya, not Bran. Especially with all the running around.

“Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it’s about finding him; he comes in in the third act."

I mainly organized them based on the way the songs flowed together musically. I did sort of have the idea that the middle section is dominated by the Patterson Hood story songs. "I Do Believe" and "Daddy Learned to Fly" are basically the same song, so I just picked the one I liked a bit better as the opener. I felt

While "Mercy Buckets" isn't the greatest song, I think it works really well as an album closer. Like, I don't want to listen to it all the time, but, if I'm going to listen to a whole album of these songs, "Mercy Buckets" feels like the best way to end it.

Yeah, those are off Brighter Than Creation's Dark. They're both masterful songs, though. They'd definitely be on this playlist if they had been off those two albums.

I know a lot of people love "Sante Fe" but it just seems like the most blah song to me.

Oh, I have one. I picked the songs based not just on my favorite songs as much as the album I think would have resulted from combining the two:

I love DBT, but I've always thought that releasing The Big To-Do and Go-Go Boots as separate albums was a mistake. The best songs of those albums could have made for a sprawling, varied epic of an album that could've competed with their best. As it is, they're both too samey and full of stuff that should've been

The thing is, people have been trying for years to recreate Archie Bunker. They'll never get it right, though, because they're too scared to actually make their Archie Bunker types unlikable. Archie wasn't an irredeemable guy by any stretch of the imagination, but the show wasn't afraid to deal with the ugliness of

"That woman's in for…stealing hubcaps. What a hellish crime!"

The only stand-up special opening I don't automatically skip is the Alcatraz opening from Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill. I could watch a whole hour of Izzard riffing over stock footage.

Wait, you're not Talkin' 'bout Turtle, are you?

The wolf popped.

He's always been power hungry. The first time we meet him, he's described by the Time Lords as a renegade. Since then, he spends most of his time trying to take power and, you know, have mastery over stuff.
