Yes - I just finished reading the memoir, My Lobotomy by Howard Dully, and his stepmother singled him out for abuse - she wasn’t great with the other kids, bio and step, but only abused him, eventually arranging for him to have a lobotomy at the age of 12. Hard reading, but really well done...
