I’m split on which McAvoy looks better.

Well, this might be the final straw.

She is just producing.

He didn’t move to France, he just spent a year there, in (I’ve gathered) an only partly successful attempt to become fluent in French. But, I suppose you would rather he move into the hood-est part of Baltimore and be a constant target, just to show you how black he is. Keep on trying to drag him back in the barrel

The ... Jason Whitlock of academia and politics. Yikes.

Was the Matrix Reloaded made by a socialist co-op? Or was that an evil neoliberal Hollywood corporation? Did he donate his salary paid by those huge dirty money endowments at Harvard and Princeton to charity? Tired of these self righteous hypocrites.

I just remembered a round table with Brother West, C. Dolores Tucker and some other “Concerned Blacks” about Public Enemy when Fight the Power was out. He repeatedly said “They shouldn’t be saying Fight the Power, they should say Fight FOR Power.” I thought “Negro, that’s who HAS the power.” He always got the side

but a white couple asked, “Is that Don King?”

“...tepidly advocated for black people...”

I love that the dude who bounces back and forth between Ivy league institutions is questioning people’s hood credentials. And aint he (and Nina Turner for that matter) the darlings of the so called progressive White left? Cuz I don’t see too many other people fuckin with them

When I’m watching something and West shows up as an authority, I roll my eyes. Not because of his content, but because of his ego. I don’t know when it happened, but he has become your irrelevant drunk uncle.

See: Ben Carson after that dinner where he bashed Obama to his face. Got white folks palpitated, been high ever since

I don’t think West’s criticism of any of US is fair or balanced; from Obama on. I too had great respect for him for many years: and still do, if I compartmentalize it and willfully ignore how divisive he’s been. But-he’s selfish. He’s been one of the only recognizable black-academia-elite figures for so long that he

Honestly, his bad take on the title of the book reminds of those people who “misinterpret” BLM as “Oh, are you saying ONLY black lives matter? That’s racist.”

Obama had one responsibility to the Black community as it first Black President and that is to be the best example of a Black man and be the best President since Lincoln. That’s it, that he had to do and guess what? Mission Accomplished! The more often that happens, the more likely the next Black President will be

If that’s your takeaway from the article, you must’ve skimmed over the part that West’s entire criticism comes from the misunderstanding that Coates’ words are not his own. West didn’t even notice that he was arguing with Thomas Miller’s words from 1895.

A few months ago, I was at a Bernie Sanders rally in Birmingham, Ala., surrounded by white people excited to see their Democratic socialist Santa Claus.

And this is what happens when you comment on books you haven’t even fucking read yet... or even listened to Coates talk about the book in a 10 minute interview.

Biologically speaking, trauma can literally deactivate parts (generally those that impact memory) of your brain in a fight for self-preservation.

There are clearly some inconsistencies with the story. A lot of collegiate (black) athletes get accused of stuff like this and turns out to not be all the way true. I’m not implying she’s lying, but I am implying wait until we can get some more info before “fuck this guy”.
