I think these are a good thing in that they will get a new group of people into ebikes. The bikes themselves are pretty good, with some nice components. Street bikes only, I think they kept the price down by not using suspension forks. But they look excellent for casual street riding or commuting.

1st mistake. The vast majority of uber/lyft drivers around my area drive a prius. Lowers those already low maintenance and gas costs to almost nothing. To be fair, maserati, mclaren, ferrari and aston martin all have a good reason to want the fuel economy standards to be lowered, their business model is based on high horsepower not fuel efficiency. The other brands on that list like hyundai and honda have no excuse.

People buy cars like this because they are broke and its the only option in the sub $1500 range. They dont pay 5k, even for clean ones.
