The Switch can handle most of the Tales games from the PS3 / XBox 360 generation, hence things like the Vesperia port. But it’d be taxed by the PS4 era games.
Yeah it’s a content creator tanking the community. There isn’t anything else that might be causing the community to abandon ship like they were swimming in a dumpster fire.
Freaking randomly having me reply to the wrong thing.
Ah yes, people are now concerned when pedophiles can get ousted.
Not even remotely. There’s a ton of controller cases, all devices have bluetooth compatibility with most controllers, and Apple TV / Android TV sort of needs a controller to use no matter what.
I know, it’s why I countered with a DC comparison. <3
I mean, it’s like KatCorp after Lex Luthor buys it out.
I say this as a game developer. The people who are trying to pretend mobile gaming isn’t a thing are drastically in denial. Ignoring the platform is ignoring money, a lot of it. Because mobile phones are a muuuuch bigger platform than all of the gaming consoles out there combined.
And considering both Android and iOS…
A fun one to bring up is children at the beach. It’s a great way to see how we act without inhibitions. And a favorite activity of kids at a beach is to collect shells, animals, pretty much anything they can find to observe it. It just shows that we as a species have an instinct to collect and horde.
I like this…
For you cannot temper others when you are already tempered yourself. That’s my major thought on why these Primals can’t temper. Tempering is the demand of worshippers, and if they themselves are already being forced to serve they might not be able to find even the desire for such.
There’s a lot to unpack there, a larger article comparing game collecting to other collecting and trophy psychology might be in order. While it might seem weird that we collect all these darn games beyond what we could play, that’s the only aspect to which an argument seems odder than any other collection. But then…
And again... the game IS free as a part of a subscription service... which is what we’ve been talking about.
That would be a great argument, but as a developer I can easily and calmly state that’s still not a great comparison. Simply putting your game on any shop of any install size is pretty meaningless. If you don’t get exposure and no one has a motivation to even try you out, there’s no chance you’re going to get “even 5%…
Oh, also to add, “Mobile” is a bit of a catchall these days. iOS is used on more than phones. Apple TV is basically a cheap and easy to install / use game console, even uses PS4 / / XBox / Switch Pro controllers. iPad, and iOS games played via MacOS expand the horizon too.
The whole “mobile gamers don’t count”…
Not a good comparison, Candy Crush is an app store game. Apple Arcade is a subscription service where all those in the install are paying monthly to access it so have an incentive to use games on the service. On top of that, you have to remember that Install Base means potential players, not guaranteed, and potential…
You have a good point, but also by contrast, those games get front and center feature with the players and those players don’t have to pay more to download and try it out. So exposure is in fact there.
When I was like, 12, I had a bad habit of this. One day I got mad at a game on my gameboy and hit my head against the system. Shattered the screen. Since that day I have treated almost every electronic I own like it’s made of glass. Character building story. I to this day applaud my parents for making me get my own…
Notably it makes even LESS sense to have it on the console versions, which already have their built in DRM.
12 Million Subscribers is a pretty good starting base. <_<
