I can tell you of three cars that were considered flood cars that were on a salvage title because of it that our dealer bought at auction. That was fun to try and clean.
I worked as a detailer at a VW dealership. It was crazy. There were cars that had transmissions replaced 3x in 50k miles, and others had 210k miles with just fluid and regular service. The techs loved it because job security. Also, for a certain time, touareg headlights were a dealer service only item.

They need to adopt something that does not try to do too much. Controlling the entire hvac, radio, seat positions, seat heating/cooling, cup holder temp, etc don't all need to be done at the head unit.

There was a guy that brought a lime green Smart to our car cruise. Its an all inclusive cruise, so nobody is turned away, but the guy sat and polished/buffed his wheels and paint the entire show. People just looked and laughed as they walked by. It was so out of place.
That Craftsman set looks like a screaming deal.
The can recall the cars, but it doesnt take the cars off the street, or guarantee that those people will even be notified. My in-laws have a cobalt. The dealer told them it will be a month before they have parts to fix it, thats a long time to wait, and if there are no rental vehicles available, because so many cars…
