Yes. It's worth playing. Especially the Citadel DLC, if you're a fan of the characters it's probably the best DLC released to date. The extended ending DLC also wraps things up in a more satisfactory way. I still love Mass Effect, don't get me wrong. Just unhappy when I read about how some things were handled.

They knew how to end it. The original ending was leaked early and someone thought it'd be a great idea to completely rework the story to fit with a new ending. If I remember correctly the person that made this decision no longer works for the company. Thank God.
