why not both?
P.S. victims of serial killers are victims regardless of their skin color; don’t be gross. criticizing the focus is fine, but there’s no reason to diminish or demean the actual victims just for being white.

aw man, that stinks. i was there for New Years and came back in January 2020, but the burgers were all pretty standard during that time. did get some cool Super Mario Happy Meal toys, though :) but the interesting stuff wasn’t available until after i left.
hopefully once it’s safe enough to go, you’ll be able to have…
there are frequently burgers released in Japan that i so wish i could try here.
based on the popularity of these meals, though, hard to say that they’re wrong. at best, people know and don’t care, but, still.
felt the same about the sexual assault/misconduct jokes in Veep, which incidentally also involved Patton Oswalt... disappointing :/
oh, don’t do their work for them.
even as a joke, that headline/ad intro is... yikes.

i mean, this is a world where glue traps for rodents are still allowed in a lot of places, and (too) many people just leave whatever it catches to die of starvation/exhaustion.
pork rinds smell terrible, but i love them.
“Grande” is also Italian, so it’s more than a little ignorant to assume anyone with that name must be either Latine or an evil liar. plus, the other half of her name is Butera, which doesn’t have quite the same ring (so like many, many other celebrities, she went with the best-sounding name).
in a somewhat similar vein, a different blog on this site basically had people calling Will Smith’s efforts to lose pandemic weight “fatphobic”. whether it’s for health reasons or simple preference, whether it’s plastic surgery or tattoos, let people do what they want with their bodies! if they’re happy as they are,…
i’d imagine part of it is also a step away from man/woman/he/her as the assumed default. it’s not necessarily the most important, defining thing about someone, but i liken it to having different shades of skin tone bandages (instead of just “beige” being the default/only option). a wider range of skin tones and…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
showering once a week isn’t frequent enough for most people*, IMO... but i also don’t want to hear anyone talking about unwashed asses unless they own a bidet.
*there are some people who may genuinely not be able to bathe easily or frequently, and they’re excluded from this.
internal or external, experience and ability is something that should have come up way, way before the tweets were brought up. i do not believe those things were discovered at the same time, or had the same impact on whether or not she would proceed to hold that position.
maybe “inconsequential” wasn’t the right word; i meant that more along the lines of how Alexi seems to have done quite a bit to move on and grow as a person, since those tweets so many years ago (so it’s not much of an indicator of who she is now). the thing itself isn’t inconsequential, but it’s not really useful for…
some people here expressed concerns about her age and experience as well, but it seems like those things would have eliminated her from the running long before the tweets became an issue. (others also made a good point about how being younger actually made her a good fit for Teen Vogue.)
there’s a fairly consistent white = bad refrain throughout these websites (which incidentally, undercuts any legitimate criticism someone might have pertaining to white people or culture). it’s just some subtle reinforcement for weird brownie points, i guess.
although she was “guilty as accused”, the situation around Alexi McCammond (almost Teen Vogue editor) was also pretty crappy, and really highlighted how some people would not accept anything but absolute perfection.
i bought some of the expensive running shoes and i don’t use them for running BUT... they have made my walks so much better (especially during recovery from a back injury). even just wearing them while running errands made things a bit better.
