American luxury in Japan?

I agree that a lot of American Malaise era was meh to look at. Particularly those that aimed at the current “CUV” appliance market - but that can be said across generations.

11th Gen Ford Thunderbird (2002-2005)

It was a mess in 2018 or so so without pulling the actual unit out, I could not tell you. NC Motor Fleet might have gone through 3-4 different system within a calendar year, often having overlapping systems in the yard. Still, across 70+ vehicles, we had issues often about 2-5 of them at any one time. Where was a big

Misunderstood - American Pickups but because they are misunderstood, they sell.

That was a real glitch in the speed monitoring reporting tools we used in the fleet world. My inbox was filled with alerts that day. I saw alerts of the vehicle bouncing around a 140 mile area - and yeah, it was “averaged” not just the point to point notification. Even with a wheel-speed sensor (which has its own

I fully support “speed limiting” technology for anything that is “self driving” or automated driving aid (such as cruise control). You should not be able to “select” excessive speeding and then disengage from driving.

Yeah, I get that. For off-roading + manual, it is kinda a no-brainer. +1 for saying no to a $600 (or more) jeep payment.

It is a social thing for the jeepers. They are there to talk to each other more than a skill/capacity thing. You normally can’t do speed and social networking at the same time.

Kuddos for having a proper jeep.

Ha, that is nearly my list as well.

Or you could save about $50K and just go for a hike.

Ok, going to double dip and toss in another engine for y’all

Nissan L24 (and S20) tandem. L24 more for making “Japanese” not “underpowered” in the US and the S20 more for the development domestically.

You proved my point. The SW20 talking point revolved about “more boost” and that makes it the worst MR2. What made the MR2 great was the inexpensive mid-engine dynamics... not more power. But because the SW20 went boost, the rest of the dynamics were forgotten.

The Nissan 300ZX turbo was both significantly quicker and could brake harder. The FC RX-7 was better balanced and faster. Even on the track, stock 300ZZ TT were faster than the MR2 even in the corners. The MR2 was just easier to work on.

$20K for a pending electrical fire.

Incorrect. On paper I understand the confusion because it is called the “second gen” but that is just a Mazda marketing ploy as they really didn’t go further than adding 0.2l of displacement and cosmetics. The 2005 to 2006 has as much if not more changes even if less visually.
