I don’t get the hate for this car — sure it doesn’t weigh 2000 lbs and have 180hp at 9000RPM, but it’s still pretty competitive.

It has a lot of content over an Si (power leather heated seats, full LED exterior lighting, adaptive dampers, ELS sound, wireless carplay and charging, HUD...) so it depends on how important that content or the hatchback is to you. It’s almost like an added option package or trim level over an Si.

Aside from heated seats and some unnecessary Acura tech, is there any reason at all that people shouldn't just buy a Civic Si?

What incredibly sad horse and pony show will Acura implement at this media event in an attempt to convince you this car is even slightly worth anyone’s attention?

Good friend put a deposit down for a Cayman GTS a few weeks ago. He’s now been told that car is probably not happening because of global supply chain problems. He’s shopping alternatives, and I told him to take a look at getting one of these. I know it’s probably not in the same league as the GTS, but damn they’re

The Mach-E was never intended to be a high volume seller by Ford. More than anything, it was an opportunity for Ford to tool up it’s engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and supplier network for the real show that is the Lightning and others to come after.

That’s not a business model I would like to reward with my consumer dollars.

It’s an interesting question! Obviously a very different machine, considering it’s got 2 fewer seats and basically double the power. The 2nd-gen Toyobarus are a little more raw (in terms of refinement as well as feedback), but a bit more daily-driver friendly from a space and storage standpoint. It’s gonna be hard to

Yeah, I want one of these. Probably won’t spend $50k on a car any time soon, but this brings together everything I like about the 240, 300, and 370. Wouldn’t mind some pop up headlights or t-tops as a Z31 throwback (used to have one), but we all know that’s not realistic.

Exactly. Quality of life is for Americans that can afford to buy Teslas. The Chinese that make them can get fucked sideways. Their only purpose is to build our shit. They should also be only paid in doge and only allowed to shop at the Tesla store, while we're at it.

I liked it in person way more than in photos. It’s simple, in a very good way.

This keeps getting compared to the Supra, but I’m wondering if the base model might also entice a few perspective GR86 buyers.

There is a world of difference between the build quality of those brands and Tesla. It really is THAT hilariously bad. You can hur dur all you want about the Italians and the British, but they do actually bolt them together properly these days, with matching paint on all the bits that should match, and parts not

But then Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and Jaguar wouldn’t be luxury brands.

You’re comparing a brand new model against two that have been on the market for years.  OK.  Let’s check in next year.

I know the boxy grill and new hood and rear are kind of divisive, but I really like how this car looks. I hope whenever they actually make a new underneath for it, the bodywork stays similar for a while.

I remember living in an apartment that decided it was changing to “luxury” apartments. They put in a new light fixture and a mirror, and then doubled the rent.

Masking is still a good idea!

Oh goody the word “luxury” was mentioned so we can have that debate again.

I test drove an Ioniq 5. I loved it. It fixes alot of the issues I have with tesla. Stuff like: HUD, driver cluster, nicer interior, better looks. I am considering the Ioniq as my next car. I am waiting to see what the N version has to offer. I am not really considering the Tesla
