Yes, the lack of incorporating the history of the comics organically in the background has been one of the more frustrating elements of DC’s output. If it’s from the comics, they put it in your face. If it’s an element that doesn’t take center stage, then “generic enemy grunt #4" will do.

In fairness (SPOILERS FOR BP2) Nakia did mention how she left Wakanda after The Snap took T’Challa, which makes sense when you consider the “character reveal” in the post-credits scene.

I honestly have no idea how you combat such deliberate manipulation like this. It’s legal to lie and falsely frame someone’s words and spread it like an infection. What can possibly be done here?

Yeah my takeaway for why this series resonates so far is that it respects the emotional intelligence of its audience. Calling it “adult” or “dark” really deflects from the fact that so much media writing aimed at younger audiences is half-baked or lazy.

Honestly, considering Batman’s history of collaboration across the hard sciences and mystic arts, seeing him in a JLD flick would be great.

That makes no sense. Dunk on the Snyderverse all day, that’s fine, but quality of writing and reception in the past does not need to dictate author interpretation in the future.

Honestly, I kinda fail to see the point of Black Adam without Captain Marvel/Shazam/whatever. I would hope Zachary Levi shows up to balance it out.

I wonder why they keep releasing this at 30 fps. It’s been a sticking point amongst my friends over the years, and we never revisit it unless there’s an original Gamecube copy and old Wii lying around.

Nerdwriter1 actually had a good video on that several years ago - the dearth of military weapons development in Game of Thrones compared to our world.

All the more insulting, considering all of this content is available in the comments on a single page of the OG article

That retcon of Mr. Freeze is so iconic that any other iteration feels beyond hollow. It’s crazy that they came up with that for the show. The empathy in BTAS almost seems quaint now, compared to the types of stories we have been getting lately.

Honestly, idk if I would have loved Batman nearly as much were it not for the tonal direction they chose to go with the show. The art style and typical plot beats may have been kid friendly, but thematically it always felt more real than other kids shows at the time. I may not have been able to articulate why at the

I think this argument is strongest with the all-digital consoles. But for the ones with disc drives, I don’t see how this holds up? If the concern is whether it’s unfair to the consumer or the publisher, both have alternatives: buy from a brick-and-mortar or online retailer and plug the disc in. The all-digital

It either is or isn’t legal for a company of such-and-such size to wield this level of control over software

I think you’re right, a lot of this comes across as punitive attempts to catch a dissonance between a person’s external expression and their inner world, which...well, unless you’re a mind reader, you can’t possibly determine. There may be legitimate claims that someone famous is misrepresenting who they are, and that

But why? It’s a mod that “you” choose to install, or not. It’s not like they replace the flags with anti-LGBTQ ones.

If they wanted to go through this effort from the privacy of their own home on their own computer, no one was going to stop them. But the minute they chose to make this mod public, they opened themselves up to scrutiny from outside observers - namely the platform hosting their content.

I imagine its success is pinned on parents putting their toddlers in front of the screen for hours at a time as a virtual babysitter. The audience isn’t hung up on the VA quality.

I legitimately had to Google that because, as absurd as that title is, I could totally believe they greenlit that for TLC

Okay but I do want a Gray Ghost movie (rip Adam West)
