Seconded. My latest rewatch confirmed the brilliance of Season 3, and it was a wise call to make the villain’s philosophy a reflection of Aang’s struggle when facing the Avatar State and, ultimately, Firelord Ozai.

Why have Bobby D cook up a new track when the Chef whipped this up over 2 decades ago
People seem to have a misconception of digital storefronts, in that their business models do not match brick-and-mortars like Target. Companies do not “sell” the app or its monetization features to Apple or Google at a wholesale or negotiated price before the product is placed on the App or Play Stores at a markup.…
This discussion is always terrible, and necessary. Many of us wish to return to a state of innocence, where the art that shaped us remains isolated from context and creator. I have similar feelings around Michael Jackson and, like Dave Chappelle famously covered, Bill Cosby.
Yes I am here for the Star Fox Adventures 2 announcement
I have heard nothing but praise from my peers about Extraction, but that could reflect more on my associations than AV Club’s feelings on the flick.
Fondly remember my first trip to Tokyo in 2014 and visiting Odaiba. Rented a bike with my friend for the day for 500円 in Ochanomizu (or Okachimachi? Maybe in Suidobashi Station, I’m blanking). Biked for two hours down to the beach, saw the Gundam, mini Lady Liberty, and a Honda Integra. On the way back, I fell off the…
Ah I see your point now. Hitman does do this extremely well, and I don’t think another title has really replicated that dense gameplay and environment design in quite that way recently. Assassin’s Creed could certainly achieve what you describe, if Ubisoft felt compelled.
Haha sorry I just realized I, too, had put it on in the background and just listened to his comments. Should’ve left a warning and a disclosure: haven’t played Origins, Odyssey, nor Fortnite (though my siblings love it).
Game critic Chris Franklin (aka Errant Signal) recently did a video on Fortnite speaking to how Epic creates experiences out of nearly every facet of the game.
I would even argue that Rian Johnson tried his damndest to recapture the magic of that OT scene in The Last Jedi at the climax of Luke’s story. Probably the most impactful moment in that entire film, and I never fully appreciated that connection until your comment.
I’ve tried to visit the GMG sites on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on multiple devices, and whenever I have an Adblocker on and tracking off, I cannot log into Kinja. I just gave up and endure ad hell on Microsoft Edge, which I use for nothing else. Coincidentally, my doomscrolling has plummeted. Mission accomplished?
Silver Spoon, made by the mangaka for Fullmetal Alchemist. It’s about learning how to farm. One of the better slice-of-life series I’ve seen.
The OG Stand Alone Complex is the golden standard that even Production I.G. was just never able to reach again in my opinion. Psycho-Pass does a decent job (re-watching right now) but it’s not quite there.
Some directors misunderstand their material and how to use their style to apply it - Snyder’s DC Universe
My friends give me so much crap every time they see my Discord status show me boot up the OG RCT, but I don’t care. The older I get, the more I love revisiting those systems and making them work on modern machines. And now that I understand the technical achievement the game was, I love it all the more.
This feels more like an attempt to normalize boring life hacks to a younger audience that may need them someday. There is something to be said about meeting people where they’re at, akin to discussing the wonderful world of accounting at the proverbial bar.
I find it nearly impossible to get through any Breakfast Club interview because I find them to be a mess, so I’ll trust your take here.
I am reminded of Chappelle leaving his show:
You can be racist all you like - in your head. The minute your point of view comes out, though, it is open for confrontation. And while this woman may not be overtly racist, her response to this man’s confrontation is harmful, for it diminishes the employee’s experience and perspective. Not all racism is cross…
