Thankfully he went to the New York Post, that most trusted of journalistic institutions.

[Y]you can upshift and downshift from the same paddle, depending on whether you push or pull it, as both paddles are molded from the same piece of metal. Oh, and it weighs just a tick over 3,000 pounds.

I suppose it does depend on the team. The money is probably more of a “nice to have” thing for RB, Merc, Ferrari, and to a lesser extent McLaren. But most fans don’t really pay attention to the constructors’ championship, and getting the WDC is what brings all the attention. That’s what they’re all out there racing

Daniel Ricciardo saw his end because he can’t drive these ground effect cars. McLaren wasn’t great in his time there but they (smartly) paid him millions to not drive the car. Then he got outclassed by Yuki, his less experienced teammate. Much as I think the RB driver churn system is untenable I don’t think you can

She added that the decision to close Cruise reflects its need to stay agile in a changing industry

I’ll also do a fictional example as well. In the Home Movies episode Bye Bye Greasy, the start of the play has the character say “in a minute ma, I just gotta get the timing right on this carburetor.”

It’s not known whether the collection of cars was for Assad’s personal use, but as a dictator he’s probably not one for renting his cars on Turo.

Turns out that just because you have a lot of money doesn’t make you smart, or mean you can’t be easily swayed by someone I have to assume is a smooth talker.

I haven’t seen any actual data on whether people plug in their PHEVs, so this is speculation. Now, automakers seem to be adverse to releasing any data on this that I assume they have, so it’s probably not bad speculation. If most were plugged in you think they’d be touting that fact all the time.

I feel so vindicated, since I was always banging the hybrid/EREV drum since all the announcements of EV pivots. I’m not here to argue what is the most logical choice, or that EVs are actually fine for xx% of people, or whatever. I based it off what I thought consumers would actually be comfortable with, because the

I think the “for the express purpose of affecting the temperature, the weather, or the intensity of sunlight” is the out for that. It’s just a happy side effect for them, not the main concern.

I thought the Iron Dames team started out with Porsche, but no they started with a Ferrari 488, then in ‘23 ran with Porsche in WEC and Lambo in IMSA, then just Lambo in ‘24. Annoyed at Lambo for pulling out of the series so suddenly but glad the team got a lifeline from arguably the best brand in endurance racing.

Kinja breaks all links since forever ago, unfortunately. They will never fix it because it seems Jalop is the last site to still even have a comment section, which is surprising.

They were already planning to drop the GasGas branding as of months ago, and just make them Tech3 KTM again. But this bit from a motorsport.com article is worrying:

David Emmett at motomatters.com has a great write up on it here:

Here in central Florida the biggest issue is definitely tinted plate covers. Just by the sheer number I see I know that the cops aren’t doing shit about it. It’s obscuring your plate, plain and simple. Like the most slam dunk ticket ever.

Last year I got a scooter on Black Friday sale that’s been great. I use it to run to the CVS or gas station for snacks; same as you, places that suck to walk in FL summers, but driving 3 minutes makes you feel like a chump. I use it more than expected.

Are they competing for some award for expensive, vulnerable, and annoying to replace headlights?

Maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s the price of the cars, but Bugatti has really done nothing for me emotionally since maybe the first Veyron. I’d say their design language is too strong, since I would’ve thought the car in the last photo was just a Veyron with better headlights. I will be taking my millions of dollars

While I wanted Martin to win it, and I’m chuffed he did, he had the same bike as Bagnaia. Not similar, the same. Pramac has fewer technicians to go over data, and they might get mileage out of parts than the factory team, but otherwise it’s the same for him.
