Since you also appear to misunderstand what Due Process is, let me clarify. Due Process is a thing that the Government must give you when it takes an action that affects any of your rights.

Because even if the state refuses to bring charges for lack of evidence, the First Amendment continues to allow people to call him a rapist without him being able to defend himself.
agreed, let’s lynch him, i bet we all got our white hoods on already
FYI, The 21st amendment repealed the 18th.
My four year old is the same way, but she wouldn’t tell you because she clams up when a strange person asks her anything. You don’t even have to be strange; we saw her teacher in the shop and my daughter acted as if she didn’t know her and wouldn’t speak to her.
I don’t know. The eldest is five years old. I think if you’d ask a lot of five year olds who their parents were, they’d answer with “mommy and daddy” rather than with their parents’ first names.
Five kids between ages of 1-5. If they were all hers, that’s a pregnancy a year. This reminds me of the Andrea Yates case where she had really bad postpartum depression. Which compounded with each birth.
People like to talk shit about artists, but without them many of the staples of American life would be gone. No advertisements, video games, movies, cartoons, magazines, ect. Artists are necessary for many of the things that people take for granted and get none of the respect for it.
Yeah, im 40 and never heard of them.
It is a bit of semantics. He won’t be charged with any crime, and he shouldn’t be because he didn’t commit one. What I am calling abuse is because of the combination of the age difference AND that she was asking for a job. The age difference isn’t an “ew” for me, it is more that at her specific age, combined with the…
An employer always has to consider lawsuits and what could happen in the future. If he were to sexually harass someone in the future, the employer could be held responsible for keeping him in that position. It will be up to his party to decide if they feel firing is the best thing to do since they could face…
Well, since the British police, who presumably know British law, said he hadn’t broken any law, I’m going to assume it doesn’t. Probably applies to people like teachers.
Not sure if its applicable in this case, but the age of consent when in a position of power/trust is 18 in the UK. FYI
Yeah, but he wasn’t the only one participating. You have to wonder why she kept it going and then turned it over to the tabloids. Did she try to blackmail him? What would she have to gain by ruining his career? She’s a kid, sure, but I can’t believe she didn’t know what she was doing.
I think it’s to do with her wanting a job at his office and getting lewd messages instead. Plus, it’s politics and you can be suspended (he wasn’t fired yet I don’t think) for something that damages your party.
I think that there is more nuance to this story w/r/t him and her, but whatever I mean rage on.
I think since she contacted him about a job he may be fired based on that. A young woman should be able to contact a man about a job without getting sexually explicit messages in response. It was definitely an abuse of his position.
My only counter to that statement is this, how is it deserving of losing his job? Yes it is creepy. Yes it is inappropriate to some degree. It wasn’t illegal, and she didn’t work for him. He wasn’t married. How is this case a fire-able offense?
Spare the rod, spoil the child.
Yes, but George, when you ruin your children, sometimes the state has to take them away from you for their own welfare.
