I think she’s getting at the potential for “crying wolf”, if an accusation without a conviction is enough to get you out of a contract.
Even for trash (I’m not familiar with NY politics) if you get one piece of legislation per term like this, it won’t be long until NY catches up with the rest of the Western world.
They don’t inherently deserve to be paid less just by virtue of being women. Like I said, they deserve to be paid their worth, just the same as men. If the women’s final of Wimbledon pulls in more ad revenue/ticket sales as the men’s then they should be paid more. If it pulls in less, they should be paid less.
Agreed. I generally agree that your pay should reflect your worth. Women’s football in America is more profitable and more popular than Men’s football.
Not so much because breasts; men actually get fined for the same thing, because Sponsors. There are a lot of cameras on you when you score a goal and your pictures end up everywhere. Sponsors pay a lot of money to ensure their brand is in that picture.
Yeah, that’s the whole conundrum though, isn’t it? Do you take the moral high ground and say that “We shouldn’t need these facilities. These facilities are placing responsibility on the victimised party. The wider problem needs to be sorted” or do you take the practical shortcut that is admitting you can’t solve the…

I agree with your general point here, but it’s worth noting that Belgium is hardly a fascist state. The muslim population there isn’t oppressed, but still young people were radicalised there and went out and bombed both their own and neighbouring countries.
I never once even hinted that I might suggest that an insinuation could potentially be made that men experience anywhere near the same level of harassment as women.
If you disbelieve me, please ask any British guy friend you might have. Honestly, I am that convinced that if you ask any British guys you might know “Have you seen groups of girls/women catcalling/wolf whistling/propositioning or groping guys on nights out” they will answer in the affirmative.
My account, actually.
Would you say disbelieving victims is the best way to go about sexual harassment claims? That’s what you’ve done. All snarky comments aside, in this comments chain you’ve disbelieved perfectly reasonable claims of harassment and implied that any harassment that might possibly have occurred is just a lesson in humility…
