Hah, my eldest is the same way. Yeah, I find large age-gap relationships a bit disturbing, but that’s my own personal issue. But if he were 90 and she were 50, it wouldn’t bother me a bit. Likewise, if the age-gap weren’t so great and she was a job applicant, a relationship growing from that wouldn’t really bother me either.

That argument can be made in both directions and for any age-restricted matter.

I believe he can’t be fired either. He’s elected. He can be kicked out of the party and deselected as their next candidate, but the constituents elected him, the party has no say.

No, I would certainly discipline that person (that sounds so wrong in the context of this case), but not to the extent of firing them unless it became a repeat occurrence. The danger with power differentials in cases like these is that it can lead to pressure on one party. It doesn’t necessarily always actually occur.
