This guy seems like an epic douche in all respects except:

Guess he has to line up in front of the tiny guillotine then...

Well, the divorce was for apparently unreasonable behaviour rather than infidelity per se.

Well he used to call Tim McInnerny ‘Darling’ a lot.

He’s gonna gay marry me first, that was the best question asked in the history of ever. An absolutely beautiful, scalpel-like question.

As I heard it on the radio this morning, the above article misses a key point. The speaker is not allowed to ask a member to retract a statement not made within the current session. The members of parliament were asking him to do that, so the speaker’s hands were tied.

Sorry to be ‘that guy’ but a server is a minimum wage job in most parts of the world. Talented ‘career’ servers move on to upscale restaurants that pay better.

Just have the staff trained to say “Oh, you paid extra, let me get you your change” and then the customer is reassured that the tip is not necessary but can demur and say “No, I insist” or whatever.

“Their job is to bring you the food, drinks, or whatever you ordered in a timely manner, to have a fairly pleasant demeanor, and to make sure that you’re not eating in a pig sty.”

Hi, thanks for the response. Don’t we ask actors to assume identities and lived experiences they can’t possibly have all the time? Sure a white man will never experience racism the same way as a black man. But neither of those will experience the horrors of war but we do not demand only people who have served play

If there aren’t many roles written for POC wouldn’t colour blind casting be a good thing? Not only would it mean you could apply for all roles, it would mean the roles available aren’t typecast.

How long do you reckon September 11 will continue to be shorthand for 11/9/2015 (yeah I’m not American)?

Good, because that would be a lot in 2 months.

“a number that has doubled since September 11”

Though to be fair, there is some truth that racism and sexism is either/or from my viewpoint. I am very much an idealist and against compromising on values.

My point is, they got the roles because of their ability. Not because of their skin colour. I don’t care if you bury your head in the sand about what is (probably well intentioned) racism. I don’t expect you to admit to it. As long as you are aware that someone has decided what you have said is racist, perhaps you

Assuming you’re asking the the hypothetical “Both artists are equally talented in every single way” then flip a coin.

I did amateur drama when I was younger. But nothing since my teens. However are you suggesting that Lucian Msamati got the role of Iago with the RSC this year for anything other than his acting ability? or Hugh Quarshie as Othello? Or Chiwetel Ejiofor (who won an Olivier)?

I’m not in favour of extra-judicial punishment, but if this guy ‘fell’ down a few courthouse steps I wouldn’t investigate too closely.
