That’s part of what makes this so hard. It takes students standing up in numbers to change a culture.

I’ve seen situations where it is an effective conversation to have, and some where it just expanded the discord from 2 students to 2 families. Particularly with younger students. If very young students are bullying, especially by using racial slurs, it is likely that behavior was learned at home. I don’t necessarily

Hot take: Bush was actually incredibly smart, and part of that genius was convincing everyone he was just this regular Joe, and that’s how he got away with a lot of what he did.

It wouldn’t hurt to make the school aware. In some instances social media bullying can spill onto campuses. Students at my school have been involved in situations that led to them being at another school nearby in a physical conflict over something that happened online. Our school was very vigilant for retaliation

I’m a teacher, and this is all very good advice. One thing for parents to keep in mind. Students are very good at not getting caught when it comes to bullying. They choose hard to monitor places like bathrooms and now social media/text messaging.

I dunno. My cat is pretty big.

Part of the success of the Republican party is that they get voters to show up at mid-terms, and they tend to value non-Presidential races more than Democrats.

Sharing genuine stories like this in which you balance your love for your family and your deep concern about their change for the worse and their current actions is a great place to start. Treating people as human beings, and showing concern for them would go a long way.

Not sure I want to run the math since the result is what it is at this point. The question then becomes, would giving Hillary 11% of Johnson’s votes change the outcome in a meaningful way? Simple way is to look at close states and give her a tenth of Johnson’s votes. Does she make up the gap?

I forget, was Washington a Democrat or a Republican?

Probably not much if you had been an All-American the two years prior, setting high school records for 3PM.

I blame it on the fact that they both are dependent on a high ISO game. Should have moved the ball around more.

A class on improving study habits may have helped him in the NBA, but not as much as you know...playing basketball. Which is what he was doing instead of going to class.

That’s unfortunate, although I imagine it is at least somewhat offset by covering a much larger portion of the roof in many cases. If it gets more solar adoption and helps R&D all around I’m excited, but I’m guessing I will be priced out of this kind of solar tech.

I actually don’t really watch football anymore but I read this just for the Schilling/Tomsula bits. I thought I would miss Emmitt more, but the Schilling piece is fantastic.

It’s 3 years, and they were going to really suck for at least 1 or 2 of them even if Hinkie hadn’t taken over. People keep acting like he gutted a great team.

Trade Durant to the Lakers for Magic? What kind of idiot are you!? The cap numbers would never work.

I think its a lack of faith in most football players/celebrities, not a lack of faith in humanity.

It was also the annual reminder that the Spurs are always really good, and usually overlooked.

Worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier in college. You stop caring after the first day. Except for the dude who bought the biggest box of condoms on sale and the biggest box of diapers, and nothing else. But I kept it professional. The Wal-Mart way.
