While I don’t exactly agree w/your assessment, I thoroughly enjoyed your descriptions.

We already know what they are. They proved it by shutting down the federal government. No one is unaware of what the GOP is.

“The obstruction is a separate issue. I think that Garland was appointed to show how obstructionist the GOP is being.”

You:

I understand the role of judges just fine. I just don’t favor adding a conservative Mitch McConnell specifically asked for in Garland.

Wait... maybe you mispoke?

I’ve paid attention to all branches and levels of government for twenty years.

I have, and I do. He is a conservative, although people are projecting a moderate label on him because he almost maybe supported a handgun ban in DC once.

Nah, its just a scapegoat Dems use to try to scare people into voting against their own interests.

Conscience, not “conscious”.

It sounds like you’re a moderate, which is fine but disingenuous to claim to be a liberal and then cheer the GOP’s preferred choice. You can “hate” how people like me aren’t willing to join you in self-contradiction and defeatism, but for the millions of people suffering in this country preserving a status quo that

I think you mean “eminently” qualified, and that wasn’t what anyone was discussing. We were discussing giving the GOP the conservative judge they want, and whether or not that was a smart move by a Dem President.

Media matters, who I never hear anyone claim is a conservative site, has compiled a good list of Conservatives praising and pushing him for years. It looks more like the GOP is fooling the administration, assuming that it was ever the WH’s intent to move the court’s makeup: http://mediamatters.org/research/2016/…

President Clinton’s part in the economic crash is noticeably missing from your assesment here...

So he’s gambling with the SCOTUS nomination. Great. Really smart. Way to beat them by giving them what they want.

Exactly, Democrats need to realize their base is not large enough to carry Clinton to a win in the General election. Without drawing independents away from Trump (as Sanders does) we are well and truly fucked.

I absolutely agree, Cruz is so much worse. Bill Maher’s recent endorsement of Cruz over Trump is baffling, but sadly not the weirdest side he’s taken in on an issue.

It makes no sense to run the candidate who has as high negatives as Trump, and who is being dogged by an FBI investigation, over the candidate with the highest positives of any primary contestant on both sides (Sanders). I really fear that the Trump Presidency is far more likely w/Clinton as the nominee.

Well that was the argument, but Obama kind of blew it up by nominating a white male conservative (Mitch Mconnell’s choice!) in Garland.

Mitch Mconnell literally named Garland as someone Obama could nominate that they would approve of. This is a pick straight from the mouth of the GOP. The fact that they turn around and obstruct shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone paying attention for the last 7 years of O’s admin. Throwing a tantrum? That’s a weird
