My initial comment was really related to the article and that sexual compatibility is an important aspect - but I got off on a tangent - sorry about that :)

Good thing you got out of it. Yes, she can be very nice, and I’d like to think that is how she is deep down - but all the crap drowns that out and makes it almost impossible to be with them.
That’s good to hear and yes, lets hope that happens both for him and for my wife down the road.
Sorry to hear about your experience too - hope you are doing well now. Thanks - I agree, Divorce can be a good thing - though the process of getting through one can be pretty painful depending on her mind-state around it. That’s also a reason why I have held off so far. Thanks again :)
yes, right on! She also likely suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Thank you - that’s good to hear! Yes, I’m sure will some people will think I’m the bad guy, but I’ll just have to accept that.
Sorry, didn’t mean to bum you out! Not something I usually discuss. I’ve been married for 12 years, the first 5 were really bad - after that, at least not the psychotic episodes (though she has a horrible temper, so my daughter and I have to be careful). Our daughter is 12 as well, and she is at the point where she is…
We married when I was pretty young and we partied a lot. I didn’t fully realize how big her problem was alcohol was until after we got married, and by then we had a daughter on the way. She (my wife) had psychotic episodes threatening to kill me, herself (running around the house with a knife) etc. She did finally get…
Totally agree. That said, my wife and I are very sexually compatible but she is crazy (not in a good way) in all other matters - so as soon as my daughter is a bit older, it’s over. I guess it’s the whole package...
It already works that way on pc. Some games are not very graphics hungry and don’t take much advantage of a fast gpu, while others take full advantage of the fastest gpu on the market (and often could work better on future ones). They still down-”scale” fine for pc’s with more modest specs. Lots of customization on…
Not sure why you think that. This is really a new generation in a sense, and developers always start supporting the latest gen. Besides, any game developer currently developing for pc is used to a great variation of hardware, so this does not make it much harder for them at all.
“Quantum entanglement seems to be an odd loophole around space-time, so if they somehow have a way to manipulate that, then that could be the basis of how they can communicate so far, so quickly.”
Maybe in terms of the quality of experience, but in terms of what you get for the money in features and usability - no, it is not a true statement. A phone is a unit with often high quality display, good processing, built in memory, ability to connect via bluetooth, wifi and cellular. It can be used for making calls,…
Yeah, that sentence makes no sense. If you buy a phone or a tv for 599, you get far more use out of it than the Rift. (and I am a big VR proponent)
I doubt the Vive will be that cheap (and they never said that, unlike Oculus who did hint at 350-400). However, with the added features of the Vive, I’d have no problem paying 600.
When one of the top guys in the company strongly hints at a 350-400 price-point, coming out at 600 is outside the ballpark. I would say most people would think anything more than 25% over is outside the ballpark.
Yeah, Dev support is my biggest concern. Maybe Oculus is subsidizing some game development though(?) If you can afford it, and it sounds like you have a decent amount of space - are you planning on getting the HTC Vive too? Seems much more interesting to me than the Rift. When the price reaches a level I am willing to…
Maybe not, they can shed some of the unnecessary stuff that Oculus added in, and hopefully get to the same price point. I think they would get far less backlash if they manage to sell for 600-650. First, they never hinted a 350-400 price, secondly, people that know the Vive understands exactly what you said, you get…
I know it would be out of reach for most, but if I were to pay $600 for a VR experience, it would be the HTC Vive. I think the unique features could justify a price point around there. The Rift should have been sold for $400, no question. Heck, even if at a loss, it is friggin’ FACEBOOK that owns them. It would spur…
I don’t think many spend thousands on that anymore, plus they will likely be used more than a VR device. I can get a 4K 40” monitor for probably around $800, in a few months, maybe $600. Would people typically rather spend the money on that, if they work and/or play on the pc for an average of say 4 hrs/day, vs a VR…
