Thank you. I spent 12 years in Melbourne. Lived in St Kilda, Elwood and Albert Park.
I don’t get it. Here in Australia heroin is as dead as disco. It’s just meth, everywhere. I mentioned in a previous post that the house directly behind mine (we share a fence) was busted 2 weeks ago for operating a lab. And this is an inner-city, family orientated suburb.
Yeah, I don’t understand it. It’s in the news constantly here (Western Australia). I rent in a fairly affluent, family-friendly neighbourhood and just two weeks ago the house directly behind mine was busted for operating a meth lab. I’ve got 2 young kids!
Thanks for the info. Don’t know where I got the idea that it was in the south, must have been thinking of somewhere else. I can be a bit of a clown...
Really? That honestly surprises me, I would have thought that the South was more methy than anywhere in the States. My understanding is that most of the meth being used in the US comes from Mexico, so the southern states would be flooded with it. I’ve heard that Fresno is the world’s meth capital. Pardon my…
Thank you. I don’t know about heroin, but ice is certainly rampant amongst the mining FIFO workers (fly in-fly out). I admitted myself to a private psychiatric recently, mainly for booze, anxiety & depression (the classics) and 90% of the patients there were ice-addicted FIFO workers. WA is now the meth capital of…
I was what you might call a “functioning” heroin addict for about 8 years. I was always employed, mainly in management roles, and nobody seemed to notice. I flew to Perth (I’m Australian) to get a Naltrexone implant, an opioid antagonist. A year clean, and then I was with a friend who used so I thought, “One little…
with zero scandals of any kind
I pretty much feel exactly the same way, and I’m not even American. I just really admire him, as I think most Australians do.
Well I suppose glassmakers and this font both blow...
Thanks so much for the info. The media here is very filtered, so I appreciate the insight.
Jesus Christ. I had never heard of this.
I said this in another post so sorry if I’m repeating myself...
I don’t get it. I’m a non-American, and was horrified when Trump was elected. I was even more horrified to learn that he won by a significant margin and that voter turnout was at record numbers. But I have not seen one bit of support or positive comment about him. Not. One. So who the hell voted for him? Where are his…
Even us Australian folk are shitting ourselves, but thank you for you post. I thinks it’s probably helped many disaffected Americans. We all need optimism right now.
Kind of off-topic, but my son and I build model rockets as a hobby. We recently launched one that broke the sound barrier. It cost a total of $300 for materials and the engine. The cost of building a small rocket that will go into orbit? Around $250,000.
He really is a grade A cunt.
Hey!
Those were the days, give me another Hawke over Turnbull any day...
