It did. Specifically, they kept Danielle S/ho for some sidequests, they kept the retrofuturism from Option 3 along with the human experiments, they kept the fading monster men from Option 3 and the fake world and helpful AI.

As a lazy student, I would have taken the easy route and submitted 127 blank pages defending the anti-Gay marriage position. To paraphrase Michael Corleone: My defense is this: nothing!
Played that one for a bit years back. Was a rough level just hunting down a single mark. Pretty solid game for the time, but I don’t think they had a lot of story or character development really wrapped around the whole thing. More of a ‘go catch bad guys’ and less of an immersive story, or compelling reason to…
not much more pointless than lots of other kinds of labor
They don’t own the rights, System Shock 3 is already in development somewhere else, etc.
so what I’m getting from this is that the publishers of apps also suffer from their own version of “pay to win”.
I’m guessing you’ve never seen a concept/pitch deck before.
They weren’t asked to make a System Shock game, they don’t have the rights to make a System Shock game and there are already people making System Shock 3 and remaking System Shock. They were more than likely contracted to make a game and to call it Prey, regardless of what it was like. Bethesda may have said they…
Thing about an idea is that, because it isn’t realized, it can be as nice and ideal as we want it to be, since it only exists in our heads.
Current one is good doe. I’m happy with the conclusion they arrived at.
I was going to be like “what a shit job” but I sit at a computer all day clicking a keyboard and mouse, so...
Is it really that different from your day job?
Unless you are curing cancer or something similar, your job is not that different from theirs.
The issues I had with the game are still there, which is the relative strength of gear, and absolutely terrible balancing between the different heroes, and core gameplay that eventually devolved from how the developers envisioned it.
Yeah, their process for the show (finishing each episode literally hours before it airs) likely does not translate well to video game production. I remember hearing once that Stick of Truth had enough cut content to fill an entire second game.
In all fairness, Ubi didn’t seem to put much effort in advertising it and they quietly released it in December. They essentially sent it out to die after many had already finished their holiday shopping.
My boyfriend seems super excited and proud of his work on South Park. Whenever the game does come out, it will be so much fun to see how it all turns out!
I’ve been tempted by Steep now that it’s regularly discounted to $30. Then I remember it’s not SSX and won’t fill that SSX-shaped hole in my heart.
Don’t ask too loudly, could cause an avalanche.
Too little too late, you get one chance to release a proper game.
