I’m also a black girl from Houston, and let me tell you my household went into mourning when she died. Whenever a Selena song comes on the radio my dad still says she would have been on a Madonna. My middle school held a memorial service were we released balloons. And I credit her for how I wear my eyeliner.

I’m a Black gal from Houston and I knew who Selena was before she died. I also saw her perform at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. Maybe it’s a Texan thing as well as a Latina thing? When she died, my high school went into mourning.

Honest question — is Parsons the first player/assistant GM? Should he get a check for his scouting and recruiting work? I know these things happen behind the scenes between players, but I don’t remember a player being this publicly involved, working so closely with (and being lauded by) the owner, etc.

Except it was clearly a poison pill contract that Dallas was hoping Houston would match. Houston wanted to wait to sign Parsons because they were still gunning for Chris Bosh at the start of free agency, and Parsons had been promised Rockets would match any offer (or so he says).

By saying Cuban declined to comment “on the record”, I am going to assume he admitted OFF THE RECORD that this theory is 100% true. Its the internet, I do what I want.
