But 3a needs to be "if you're not a soccer fan, then you don't need to tell everyone how much the sport sucks during the World Cup". This is the only sporting event I've seen where people who aren't watching it feel the need to constantly remind you that they're not watching and that anyone who is is an idiot or

No one has said anything about Beasley, but I think he's a great player. He handled the ball gracefully, passed on target, and was always in position...and he's consistent. Also he had that great save in the beginning of the game. He may not be flashy or the star, but he's definitely a solid player who is very

USA did amazingly well. The Belgian team is almost all made up of current English Premier League players. It was David and Goliath in that respect. Me and my mates in England were well impressed with you guys. The only thing hampering the USA team is you guys are too attack minded hence leaving yourselves open.

Everyone who says that Americans don't care about soccer should spend a few minutes with the five year-old boy who spent the first 30 minutes after the game with his buried in my chest, sobbing, because he didn't want his mother or little brother to see him cry. I am hardly an expert on this sport, but fuck all do I

Everything sucks? No. Just no. It's been an awesome tournament for the USA, take pride in your team's performances and the excitement they've helped bring to this World Cup.

Belgium probably just about deserved the victory, but man, was that a great game. I was pulling for the US, and the backs-to-the-wall performance just solidified that. It wasn't a park the bus exercise like the Swiss gameplan earlier - the US had some really good chances and I wouldn't have begrudged them that late

These games always show just how far we are from being a Belgium or Germany. Still no idea of what to do offensively, often bad fundamentals like an inability to bring down the first touch, and a defense plan largely based on running as hard as possible to stop anybody. The team still gets by on great goaltending

Sometimes I wonder how that guy even finishes a round in a day because of how often he's improving his lies and blaming the bushes.

When all's said and done....we get to live in the U.S. We win.

Dear Jurgen Klinsmann,

Check a golf course

you hate it, yet you take the time to post here repeatedly. Yeah, you hate it so good...

Now playing

As a Canadian I know that sports-wise, when the US wants to be among the best they will marshal their resources to accomplish that goal. Getting to the knockout round is phase 1 of the plan, soccer-wise.

You suck. But you already knew that about yourself.

Personally, I think you should go fuck yourself.

Likewise the american team can leave the world cup with their heads up high. you played a great match against us and we're deeply impressed by your goalie. that was a thrilling match!

Die in a brush fire.

It was such a close game. Even though I'm disappointed in our lose, I can't get over the fact that Tim Howard gave that legendary performance and that 19-year-old Julian Green scored on what might've been his first touch. Insane.

Good job, America. Hopefully we'll finally get past this point next Cup.

In the meantime,

Dear Tim Howard,

You'll see a lot of sanctimonious assholes wrapping themselves in the American flag to make "this is why America is better than everyone" comments during this World Cup but...
