It's not
Well, this affects me as a Nest and a Protect owner. I had heard Google was developing its own competitor WiFi thermostat. I don't really know what to expect but I suppose yay! Google has one more piece of info about how I live my life.
$7.00 a month, on average? Most (if not all) electric dryers use resistive heating elements to dry the clothes, the new ones aren't very different from the old ones. The only way the new ones are any more efficient is that they detect when the clothes are dry better (often by humidity level), therefore saving energy…
How significant of saving can I expect with a geothermal system? I'm considering building a house in the future and the idea of systems that pay for themselves in savings interests me greatly. I live in the Southeast US, currently North Alabama.
Maybe this is a silly question, but why do you think home solar installations are still so rare? Just too an expensive of an investment for most people? When I was a kid I thought everyone would have solar panels in a few years!
It appears this guy is butt hurt.
the rover has hydraulics, it's showing off to martian lowrider fans
Followed by fake robot leg injuries.
The Oculus Rift Goggles! They do nothing!
Dave Ramsey's plan works best if you can pay off your debt within 24 months (I believe it is this. I can't remember exactly) and build up your emergency fund not too long after that. You can then contribute significantly more and make up for any "lost" earnings. If it is going to take longer than that then…
Personally, I would rather pay off my house. I don't care about earning as much as I possibly can. I want the peace that comes from knowing I won't lose my house if I can't work for some reason. I would only have to pay utilities and other monthly payments. I think that is a lot of what Dave Ramsey tries to teach.
Spot on. Love Ramsey's advice and a big proponent of his "Financial Peace University" if you can find a class near you. Well worth it and wish they'd teach personal finance in such ways in school.
Here you go:
I love my Nest thermostats, but I REALLY wish it had a feature that required a PIN in order to change the temp. It would also be awesome if you could create users and have an audit log of who changes the temp and when. I'm pretty sure my 11yr old is changing the temp whenever she feels like it.
Hard to to tell, his comment doesn't factor in very well.
