The movie has some shite editing. They put the whole “Clark is secretly saving people” bit at the beginning of the film, which makes Pa Kent’s “you should let people die” speech in the middle of the movie totally pointless, because we know Clark chooses not to do that already. Even for the point he’s trying to make

Honestly it happens so much that it seems...insincere at this point.

I’d want Spider-man not to be a goddamn narc who says that his least favorite criminals are drug dealers without at least *acknowledging* that the crimes they are committing are a direct result of criminalizing something that shouldn’t be criminalized and was only instituted as a means to control the poor.

For me, the moment-within-the-moment and the point where I start crying is when Andy, just for a second, clings to Woody, silently saying “screw you kid, he’s mine!” He immediately realizes that it’s an inappropriate reaction, but it...well it takes him time, if only a second.

Hey man, it’s still tough. Remy controls Sora (and by extension the player) in Kingdom Hearts III and I still can’t crack an egg worth a damn in that game, even though I have the power to stop time and blast dudes with fireballs.

Interesting. I always felt like 0083 had a significant dearth of likable characters on either side, to the point that I felt like I was actively ignoring the parts of Gato I disliked purely because...well at least interesting things were happening when he was on screen.

Most lol-filled article I’ve read on the site in a long time, thx for that man.

I never read the Stardust Memory manga, did they kill off Bernard?

30+ years later, Jeffrey Katzenberg still sucks lol

Keep advertising this one, it’s honestly hilarious in addition to being useful.

I’d guess that they use the WYSIWYG editor in Kinja itself, which means they’re probably subject to both their browser (probably Chrome’s) spell check, and these blasted macbook chiclet keyboards.

For the record, Teferi was acknowledged as the set’s “Lead Planeswalker” at least six months ago, so it is more or less a coincidence, although Teferi has been owning standard for the past two years in any case.

something has to be the big movie that convinces people to risk their lives and the lives of others so they can experience the thrill of the cinema once again.

When the website with the tagline “Pop culture obsessives writing for the pop culture obsessed” tells its audience that pop culture obsession is wrong.

I think it’s mostly brand identity. The Abrams movies increased the profile and exposure of the original crew, and the EPs of this show (including Alex Kurtzman) were probably involved in that too, so they just feed themselves the narrative that this is what the people want.

Or should I say, wait for it, chardines?

You probably shouldn’t, but I guess the toothpaste can’t be put back in the tube now.

‘totalitarian governmental control not unlike the divide-and-conquer dehumanization agendas that preceded the Holocaust.’”

Full stop, just straight up ignore anyone who compares anything to WWII at this point.

“Not great but not terrible.”

Dude, it’s not 2009.

lmao #rekt

Not that I really expect the movie to win awards either but describing Jojo Rabbit as “Holocaust Kitsch?”
