yeah, turns out when you swindle people you usually get the better end of the deal!

Not being a dick, but seriously, give it a few years, they will be 100 bucks and be the size of a thumb drive...perfect for quad copters.
Pujols reacts as if that was definitely supposed to hit someone in the dugout but not Cano. Like the assassin he paid a ton of money to just killed the wrong man
Well if you pay them enough sex workers will say anything, Senator.
As an actual Nets fan (we exist) who has watched Plumlee play, this article is idiotic. As with any trade, it’s impossible to know for sure how it will pan out — but it is certainly a move that makes sense. There is a reason that Chad Ford, one of the harshest Billy King critics in the world, gave the Nets an A- for…
I mean, she totally changed that ignorant foreigner’s perspective forever, probably changing the perspective of his entire town and probably entire country. #FirstWorldSavior
Listen guys, this is ridiculous. Deleting comments that point out how tone deaf and culturally offensive this article is really not helping the whole “We’re not a white feminists’ thing you all are trying to buckle down on all the time. People are giving you valuable feedback: that this article is condescending and…
Exactly, it’s fine to say “this was my naive experience as a 20-year-old,” but you have to have some kind of reflection or follow-up to say how you view it now that you’ve grown and experienced more. As it is, the author just sounds really grossly self-congratulatory of her younger self.
This wouldn’t be a terrible write up if the author explained how she felt at the time and how she feels now, after having grown up a bit. But rather than reflecting back on her own problematic approach at the time, the author seems to be doubling down. That’s unfortunate.
Nope. No chance at all. But at least it made her feel better, and that’s the important thing.
I don’t understand how you have a BA in international relations and yet still manage to post something this tone deaf? Surely there must be a class that teaches people how to discuss cultural differences without coming across as some sort of western savior? Perhaps my idea of international relations and what a degree…
“There were countless times were it was cleaner to urinate on a bathroom floor instead of sitting on a toilet seat.”
Sure...she TOTALLY changed that thousands-of-years-old culture!
Well thank heavens a woman from California managed to do what no Indian woman could and show this misguided young man the light.
I am sorry, but I rolled my eyes so hard that they may have popped out of my head and are probably spiraling in a mad circle somewhere five feet east of me. The stunning insensitivity towards a foreign culture, the youthful arrogance with which a personal experience is projected to symbolize that of an entire nation…
She “was” young and naive and self-absorbed, but the author’s tone still conveys that despite the intervening years. It’s that lack of any sense of reflective criticism whatsoever that rankles a bit. Especially when it’s the typical “affair with swarthy, macho man in a foreign land” story that ALL those types of…
No, not only must you complain about his orthodoxy, you should say things like: “ I had never felt consciously confronted by sexism! It was strange to discover the reality of patriarchy on the other side of the world.” and “I genuinely wanted to respect his bible belt culture, but this was too much. I’d also been…
Uff, this is such a terribly condescending article. As an Indian urban woman from a city, I find her tone patronising to say the least. I have no desire to defend the deep patriarchal mindset that most Indian men, and several women, in my country swear by - but c’mon, this is ridiculous. She goes to a semi-urban part…
Yeah I’m not always the biggest T Swift fan but she seems completely right here. If Apple wants to lure people in with a free trial, which is a totally standard marketing move, it’s on them to pay for it as part of their promotion costs. A hotel offering a free night’s stay to new visitors wouldn’t be able to forgo…
