She’s extremely arrogant, and not just in a personality way—bravado and braggodoccio is par for the course for athletes, it’s part of the showmanship and “sales” of sports—but she was also arrogant mentally, and that’s why she lost her last two fights.

It’s not just about being “outspoken” and “confident”: she’s kind of an asshole. She’s said awful things about other competitors and eschews basic gestures of respect like touching gloves. I think the way she’s handled her losses compared to other “cocky” fighters like Conor McGreggor speaks volumes about her tbh.

I think a lot of it comes from the fact that she is not only cocky, but at times a bad sport. Her refusing to shake Miesha Tate’s hand after their fight really solidified my dislike for her. I was at the UFC event in Melbourne when she lost to Holly Holm and cheered her loss along with everyone else in the crowd…

That argument might hold a bit of water if all the female MMA fighters were that way.

To be fair, she didn’t really fight the last time she was in the octagon either.
