Martina Clements, 41, a Portland mom who didn’t vaccinate her two children until recently, said the anti-vaccine community uses fear to raise doubts about vaccine safety. But parents who support immunizations can be belittling.

I’m glad I never paid.

Former Hill staffer here...

A combination of racism and colorism passed on through the Brits and strengthened by white supremacist American institutions and instruction, a wholesale adoption of the model minority myth that allows Indian Americans to act white-adjacent and thus reap the benefits, slavish aping of mainstream conservative/white

Eh. Indian-Americans skew heavily towards the left with respect to voting patterns - 2nd, 3rd generations even more so - but there’s a lot of conservatism embedded in that community, particularly when it comes to economics, Islam, and skin color. Let’s not forget that India is, by and large, a very conservative

As a teacher, this is heartening news.

I need to be alerted to when my period is going to start because 1) I can identify pain and bloating as period-related symptoms and not GI symptoms 2) I can start taking ibuprofen every few hours in order to somewhat reduce overall pain and 3) can start wearing my cup so I don’t end up bleeding through my pants at

I have regular periods and I’m not worried about getting pregnant, but an irregular period for me means something’s up, and I’d like to address it asap. But a regular calendar works better for me, the apps I’ve used aren’t even remotely accurate.

Since being on BC for years, I can tell you the exact hour of the exact day of each month I will get my period and I’ve never been more grateful that my body isn’t a traitorous bitch like some unfortunate souls I know. Thank my lucky stars and relatively intact underwear collection.

There are ways to get these people the proper IDs they need. It is a bit complicated but should work.

Senior year of high school-in the eighties. My parents had moved our family to this godforsaken desert city from the Midwest the middle of my junior year. I was a fish out of water; often quite literally. Left my boyfriend in the Midwest; my first true love. We spent a few months with feverish phone calls, long love
