Exactly. It only takes effort if the person isn’t decent by nature. If it takes work, they should first look at why it does, rather than trying to skip steps and ending in failure.

I don’t blame her. I even hate the idea of him being here no matter how short. The Japanese love him (and his daughter for obvious, stereotypical reasons) and think he’s a savior (as they do with most white folks). It never occurs to them that him stirring up mess with N.
