Obviously, Daniel and Tawney's attraction is mutual; moreover both were caged (Daniel in prison, Tawney in her marriage/limited horizons) until their mutual connection expanded their horizons and freed them spiritually

Agreed. Moreover, Teddy didn't just move into the Holdens' house, he moved into Daniel's room and participated in running/changing Mr. Holden's tire business.
Teddy's certainly not a "good" person, as evidenced by his: …peeping at, stalking, being dismissive with, and putting down Tawney when it suited him. *
…pressuring the teenaged girl he told Jared about and then bragging about it to the HS bullies who'd teased him for being a virgin;
…taunting Daniel about prison rape;
……
Good points. It's not a stretch to think "The Last Wave" might have influenced this episode, since Aden Young (Daniel) is Canadian-Australian.
As long as he's supervised. He's too flaky to be very responsible. Note how he left his duffel bag behind, forgot to keep his cellphone handy so his probation officer could reach him, and forgot to return the signed form indicating he was staying with Amantha.
Nice parallels / contrasts between:
… the brown-colored creek water spilling out of the white boot of George, who'd lost hope, killed himself, and ended up in a spot filled with dead/discarded things (rusty hub cap, dead skunk)
… the brown-colored beach water that's Daniel's "source", where he daydreamed about meeting…
Apparently, Tawney was an inspirational source for Daniel, as well (and he for her).
Tampering with evidence, giving false testimony (on multiple occasions), framing others, threatening others - certainly Trey's been caught committing crimes that could send him to jail now.
Difference between Daniel and Trey's cases, though, is the DA and sheriff handling Trey's case actually seem more interested in finding the truth and in exploring all plausible avenues to find it.
Brandon also thought: "Trey was lured to the police station on the promise of kettle corn." Huh? Trey was already at the police station when offered sweet popcorn.
I liked the actress so much better in Sons of Anarchy.
Glad to read. The book is a recent Open Road Media freebie and is now on my to-read list.
So many callbacks to Ouroboros, e.g.:
…the predatory gang members become the prey
…the actions of the man-eating dogs being replaced by former men/women eating said dogs
…Nick and the other zombies bitten by the dogs become dog-biters
Darryl's deer (at the quarry).
I KNEW there'd be a callout to Chris McCandless (the hiker who died in Alaska and whose bio was titled "Into the Wild"). Most obvious callouts: Nick walking out in the wild with insufficient supplies, eating the cactus thinking it will sustain him but being sickened by it (in Chris' case it was berries or seeds), and…
"Keloid", the doc in the US show called it (though I thought keloids were scar tissue that didn't bleed, while Lena's wound did, in both the US and UK shows).
Very late to this party. The "vaccinations" episode, coupled with the "quarantine" (i.e., blockade/ghettoization) of Pretty Lake, and the disinformation we later learned was being fed to citizens outside of Pretty Lake makes me think of Nazis and their victims.
Charlie Higson used age 14 as his cutoff point in the Brit version of The Enemy series and age 18 in the US version.
Couldn't show that yet, because the serial killer's identity and Matt's "situation" weren't revealed 'til the season finale episode. I trust we'll learn what happened to Grace, and why, next season. Would also like to learn why, in tarnation, Marcella buried Grace's body and what statement made the cabbie release…
Several news sources say Anna Friel (Marcella) signed a 3-season deal, and in interviews, she and Nicholas Pinnock (Jason) have referred to an upcoming season 2, though neither a firm date nor an ETA has yet been announced.
