Same here.  No Facebook account, never had one, and I’d much rather use forums and StackExchange-type sites.

Fwiw, check out Walmart locally. Both of ours said no tests (Binax) were in-store on the website, but both actually had 8-10 in stock. It also helps to be willing to drive a little further. Locally I couldn’t get a booster shot, for example, sooner than 2 weeks out. I tried a Walmart about half an hour away and got an

We kept baby wipes in the car for a long time.  It was kind of entertaining to come out to a car that hadn’t been driven for a few days in the dead of polar vortex season and find a frozen-solid brick of baby wipes.  We carry antiseptic wipes now because covid, but we support this suggestion.

I support this under the condition that the designated answerer is (1) qualified and (2) described as “the truckiest trucker that ever trucked”. I would also accept the slightly more old-timey “the truckiest trucker that ever did truck”.

Clark, that’s the gift that keeps on giving.

I don’t think all of those sentences deserved an exclamation point.

Stars.  All the stars.

That’s a beautiful bike.  Hat off to you for rescuing it.  My daughter has a KHS softtail of similar vintage, and it’s still great.  Happy trails.

That’s really cool. I appreciate the confirmation of what I always strongly suspected.

We’re all just moons of the multiverse.  And dust in the wind, of course.

Now playing

Don’t blame yourself. Is the person that’s involuntarily injected with heroin to blame for their addiction? No. We’re here for you. You’ve admitted you have a problem; now here’s some video methadone:

Oh, wow.  So that’s a thing.  Noted.

Yeah, exactly.  I’d guess that a cable that’s approaching the kind of force required to pull that boat out would have enough stored energy to easily slice a person in half when it snaps.

This is as good a place as any to introduce Seatbelts On Demand™ (SOD). For only $4.99/mo per belt, you can have the assurance of working restraints in your car. You can subscribe using your infotainment system (Select Settings -> Vehicle -> Interior -> Seating -> Restraints -> <pick seat you want to add to

I appreciate your idea, and somewhat agree, but there has to be a middle ground, at least. The ability to change language and control expression can’t be left to those that are too lazy to learn what’s really going on. The classic example is “niggardly”, meaning “stingy”, and originating in Dutch, iirc. It has fallen

I’m really considering the idea that “all the good causes are taken” is a huge motivator. Some truly amazing people— MLK is rightfully the classic example— fought and died to fix some pretty terrible things. They’ve properly won their place in history and have made life better for billions. That’s quite a legacy.

Window “dressing”? Seriously? You’re going to use that term knowing that Russian dressing is apparently a thing and that the Russians committed terrible crimes? Ever heard of the Circassian genocide? Maybe ask Poland how nice Russians are.

So she flogged that idea hard?

You know, throwing in “considering the history of America” doesn’t actually turn the parents into masters and the children into slaves. All it does is say, “Ooh, I **really** super-super-want the moral authority that goes with these truly horrifying events but I can’t figure out how to bring that into a discussion
