I doubt there is anything Wil could say that won’t get him dog piled on either way. Either he defends his friend and gets it from one side, or he defends Dykstra and gets it from the other side. Might as well stay out of it until The Man says Testify. Nothing Wil does would help anyway.

I think that there was a steady decline in viewership, and that the “revamp/relaunch” didn’t have the desired outcome. The first few seasons, while of course flawed, had that great mix of “up and comers” and “nearly forgotten” musicians that were able to add a lot to the covers.

Still, if anyone can track down the Natha

The Garbage/Screaming Females cover of “Because the Night” is just a thing of beauty.

A totally unexpected one- in the days of Napster or something like it, I was looking for an MP3 of Metro, by Berlin. I found Metro by System of a Down, and figured it must just be the same title, but it’s actually a SOAD cover of Berlin, which is still crazy and awesome.

Not as much incredible but I was shocked to learn the Black Crows song Hard to Handle was originally an Ottis Redding song.

The GWAR cover of Carry On Wayward Son is awesome. I fully expected the heavier, rocking take, but I cracked up when they slowed it down.

GWAR’s cover of Get Out of My Dreams/Baba O’Riley may be the greatest thing ever produced in the AV Club. Going to re-watch now.

Yeah, the good old days. Need more GWAR in my life.

CCR’s cover of Crazy World of Arthur Brown’s cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put a Spell on You.” Also, everybody else’s cover of these covers. It is just such an intense song...

I’m no Hardwick fan or anything, but I can kind of understand why Wheaton might find it a bit hard to instantly believe the worst of a close friend and publicly denounce and sever ties with them simply because a whole bunch of internet strangers are yelling at him to do so. Which is not to say that I believe Hardwick

Well for the first decade or so of rap, very few rappers had staying power. Of the old school generation (Run DMC, Flash, Melle Mel, Bambaataa), it was really only LL Cool J that stuck around as a major name critically and commercially. No one from the new school really had staying power as hitmakers, but some of

Isn’t that how rap usually works? You put out a decent debut, get a following, and then every subsequent album is (mostly) about how much money you have and how much sex you get and how much of a badass you are and how haters need to back off. And that’s if we’re lucky, often half the debut will somehow be about the

Its like if Bill Cosby kept writing movies where he played The Sandman.

Literally, almost all of them.

Fucking hypocrites.

RIP John McCain.

I think like many, I have mixed feeling on McCain. But, I’d rather have 51 McCains than the GOP fuck-weasels scurrying around the senate right now.

Didn’t agree with 99.9% of his politics, but I would’ve trusted him as President far more than the one we currently have. So RIP.

I was never a fan of McCain, he was always happy to play the role of maverick for the cameras, but so rarely stayed in character when votes were being tallied. He gave us Sarah Palin. He gave us his daughter.

He may not be immune from criticism because of his death, but I wonder what liberals who are cheering his death thought of conservatives who had the same reaction to Ted Kennedy’s death.
