I think the AVC is just a particularly bad fit for the Kinja template. Most of the other Kinja sites are more ephemeral — very few of Gizmodo’s users are really interested in finding the original article for the iPhone 4 launch years after it happened. Their content gets clicks and shares for a few days and recedes…

My current (favorite?) annoyance: reading, say, a TV article, and then being taken to a page of all TV news, like they were on a new webpage (which the URL seems to say is actually happening) or like a new newswire section (as in the old AVC.) In the past, all those “You might also like” links were much less…

I think that’s an even bigger crime than the new comment system, articles being several times harder to find is pretty obviously terrible, and is not subject to any opinion.

I enjoy scrolling through a comment thread and then being brought back to the top of the thread at random!

It took me like 5 minutes to even find the WOT post, as the homepage just seems to randomly list new and old things in no particular order, and there is no /recent page.

Nothing in these instructions is true. Where and how do I sign in to Disqus? Clicking the gray silhouette just brings up a sign in page where I click “sign in with Google” and NOTHING happens. I created a Kinja account before I read these instructions. Am I permanently screwed? Can I never import my Disqus comments?…
